Who are we?
As a special-purpose association, we ensure the water supply for our member municipalities. Its provision falls under the category of essential public services; that is, because it is classified as vital, its provision and free access for all citizens are among the state’s responsibilities. The primary responsibility for the public drinking water supply lies with the Produkte online kaufen municipalities – under the supervision of the respective federal states – but also with water associations and water cooperatives.
As a public corporation, whose sponsoring bodies are the member municipalities, we fulfill our task of „drinking water supply“ on a non-profit basis (unlike private legal entities). We serve exclusively and directly charitable purposes within the meaning of tax law.
We work day in and day out to ensure that our customers are supplied with clean drinking water.
Future challenges for water supply include:
- Impairment of water quality due to environmental and surrounding influences
- Regional impacts of global climate change
- Increasing signs of aging and wear and tear on infrastructure, such as pipe networks, reservoirs, pumps, etc.
- Efficient use of resources (especially energy)
Only if we accept these challenges and
set the right course can we:
- to ensure the quality of our drinking water for future generations
- The water supply facilities will be brought up to the state of the art.
- Security of supply is guaranteed
- The legal requirements and hygiene guidelines are observed and
- Energy-efficient and economical operation of our facilities is ensured.
